This Cookie Policy explains how Brilliant Harvest, Inc. ("Brilliant Harvest," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on our website at brilliantforward.com and within the Brilliant Harvest precision agriculture platform. This Policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal information more broadly.
By continuing to use our website or platform after acknowledging this policy, you consent to our use of cookies as described herein. You can manage your cookie preferences at any time using the controls described in Section 5 of this policy.
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer, tablet, or mobile device when you visit a website or use a web application. They are widely used to make websites and applications work more efficiently, to improve user experience, and to provide information to website operators about how their sites are being used.
Cookies are set either by the website you are visiting ("first-party cookies") or by other organizations whose content appears on that page ("third-party cookies"). Cookies can be "session cookies," which are temporary files deleted when you close your browser, or "persistent cookies," which remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them.
In addition to cookies, we may use similar technologies including web beacons (also called tracking pixels or clear GIFs), local storage, and session storage. These technologies work similarly to cookies and are used for the purposes described in this policy.
Strictly necessary cookies are essential for the operation of our platform and cannot be disabled. Without these cookies, services you have asked for — such as logging into your account, maintaining your session, or submitting forms — cannot be provided. These cookies do not store any personally identifiable information beyond what is required to maintain your session state.
Examples of strictly necessary cookies we use:
Because these cookies are strictly necessary for the platform to function, they are active regardless of your cookie preferences and cannot be disabled through our cookie management controls.
Functional cookies allow our platform to remember choices you make and provide enhanced, personalized features. For example, functional cookies allow us to remember your display preferences, interface language, dashboard layout, and last-visited section. The information these cookies collect is not used to identify you personally and is not shared with third parties for advertising purposes.
Examples of functional cookies we use:
You can disable functional cookies through our cookie preference manager. Doing so may reduce the convenience of the platform experience but will not prevent you from accessing core functionality.
We use analytics cookies to understand how visitors use our website and platform. This information helps us improve the structure, content, and performance of our Services. Analytics data is aggregated and does not identify individual users. We use Google Analytics and our own internal analytics systems for this purpose.
Examples of analytics cookies we use:
Google Analytics data is processed by Google LLC in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy. We have configured Google Analytics with IP anonymization enabled, meaning the last octet of your IP address is masked before any data is stored. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using Google's opt-out browser extension, available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
We currently do not use advertising or retargeting cookies on the Brilliant Harvest platform. If we introduce marketing cookies in the future, we will update this policy and seek your consent before setting them.
We do not share personal data with advertising networks or sell user data for marketing purposes. Our blog and marketing pages may include content from third parties that set their own cookies; we encourage you to review those third parties' cookie policies.
Some cookies on our site are placed by third parties. In addition to Google Analytics described above, the following third-party services may set cookies when you use our platform:
Stripe: Our payment processor Stripe, Inc. sets cookies on payment-related pages to prevent fraud and to provide a consistent payment experience. Stripe's cookie usage is governed by Stripe's own privacy and cookie policies. Stripe's security and fraud prevention cookies are strictly necessary for payment processing and cannot be disabled when you access payment-related pages.
Intercom: We use Intercom for in-platform customer support chat. Intercom sets cookies to manage the chat session and to track chat interactions for quality and support purposes. Intercom's cookie usage is governed by Intercom's privacy policy. You can disable Intercom cookies through our preference manager, which will prevent the chat widget from loading.
We do not control the operation of third-party cookies. If you have questions about these cookies, you should contact the relevant third party directly or review their privacy and cookie policies.
The following provides a summary of cookie durations used on our platform:
Our cookie preference manager: You can manage your non-essential cookie preferences at any time by clicking the "Manage Preferences" button in the cookie consent banner or by contacting us. Changes to your preferences take effect immediately. Disabling optional cookies will not prevent you from using the core features of the platform, though some convenience features may be affected.
Browser settings: Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through browser settings. You can set your browser to refuse all cookies or to alert you when cookies are being sent. Note that blocking all cookies may prevent some features of our platform from functioning correctly. Browser cookie management instructions are available from your browser's help documentation:
Opt-out tools: The Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA) and Network Advertising Initiative (NAI) provide opt-out tools for participating networks. While we do not currently use advertising networks, these tools are available at optout.aboutads.info and optout.networkadvertising.org respectively.
Some browsers include a "Do Not Track" (DNT) feature that sends a signal to websites requesting that your browsing not be tracked. There is currently no universal standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals, and we do not alter our data collection or use practices in response to DNT browser settings. We will monitor developments in DNT standards and update this policy if industry-wide consensus emerges.
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use, changes in applicable law, or improvements to our data practices. When we make material changes, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this policy and, where appropriate, notify you by email or through a notice on the platform. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
